11th APT Women Kick-off Event
Prior to the implementation of the 11th program, a kick-off event for the 11th class of APT Women will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. in order to boost the activities of women entrepreneurs.
Forty women entrepreneurs who have passed a rigorous screening process will be invited to speak at the event. Those interested in starting a business or supporting venture companies are also welcome to attend the event.
Through this program, we hope to create a network of women entrepreneurs and produce world-leading companies from Tokyo.
Furthermore, Ms. Ayumi Chikamoto, CEO of ICHIGO Inc. will be the guest speaker, sharing her own experiences and a message for female entrepreneurs who are aiming to start or expand their businesses in the future.※If you wish to attend the event at Tokyo Innovation Base, please apply using the Entry application form.

CEO
Ayumi ChikamotoAfter graduating from university, she joined Recruit, where she participated in launching a new domestic e-commerce business. In 2015, after leaving Recruit, she started a cross-border e-commerce business exporting Japanese confectionery to overseas markets. In 2024, she expanded into Japan's takeout restaurant industry through M&A, now operating 30 stores nationwide. In 2026, she opened two specialty stores in the Asakusa area dedicated to Japanese kitchen knives — one of Japan's traditional crafts. Her business introduces Japanese culture to international audiences through two pillars: e-commerce and inbound tourism.

The 10th APT Women, who started in September 2025 and have completed the domestic and overseas programs, will present the results of the program, their new visions and unique business plans.

In addition, Ms. Rina Akimoto, President & CEO of vivid garden Inc. will share her experiences and give a message to those who wish to start or expand their businesses.
Products and services created by women entrepreneurs will also be exhibited at the event.

Rina AkimotoRina Akimoto is Founder and CEO of Vivid Garden Inc., a start-up founded in 2016, operating Japan's largest online farm-to-table marketplace, "Tabechoku". The company's mission is to recognize the dedication of producers for their products, inspired by the experience of her family's agricultural business closure in her youth. Since its launch in 2017, Tabechoku has grown into a trusted platform with over 10,000 socially driven producers and over 1 million users across the country. The service has empowered producers in farm, fishery and other sectors to set fair prices and deliver rich stories, by directly connecting with users. Such connections foster customer loyalty and reduce food waste by adding value to non-market standard yet unique crops and products.
In addition to her role as CEO, she serves as a member of the Food, Agriculture and Rural Policy Council and the GI Expert Committee at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as a member of the Cabinet Office’s Regulatory Reform Committee. Furthermore, she is a regular commentator on several news programs and serves as an outside director at Askul Corporation. She was also selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in 2020 and was named a Young Global Leader 2024 by the World Economic Forum. - Audience
