Sher-li Torrey

Sher-li Torrey is the founder and director of Mums@Work Singapore, a social enterprise launched in 2010 after the birth of her daughter to support women seeking flexible work arrangements or entrepreneurial pathways. Drawing on over 20 years of corporate experience across industries and her expertise in personality profiling tools, she has grown the platform into a leading flexi-work career portal, supporting over 68,000 women in finding jobs or launching Mumpreneur businesses.

In 2016, she established the subsidiary Career Navigators, partnering with more than 150 multinational companies to design returnship programs and reintegrate women into full-time professional roles.
In 2021, Sher-li launched the biennial project “Singapore: 40-over-40 – Inspiring Women,” spotlighting women over 40 who have launched businesses, restarted careers, or driven social impact—challenging both ageism and gender bias.
To expand regional impact, she created Mums@Work Asia in 2024, extending into Japan and Hong Kong. In Japan, the “Return-to-Work Japan” initiative was launched in collaboration with companies like Shiseido, Visa, Microsoft, and Johnson & Johnson to support, coach, and upskill caregivers re-entering the workforce.

Under Mums@Work Asia, she also spearheaded “Women Beyond Borders”, a regional initiative empowering women entrepreneurs in Singapore to grow their businesses internationally. Through overseas Business Study Missions, curated training programs, and cross-border networking opportunities, the initiative connects female founders with global markets, potential collaborators, and business support frameworks — helping them scale with confidence.

A sought-after speaker on diversity, inclusion, and the future of work, Sher-li regularly contributes to media commentary on employment trends and inclusive HR practices. As a career coach, she has served on several national advisory boards in Singapore, including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social & Family Development, Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Digital Development and Information. A mother of two, she continues to champion work-family integration as a critical foundation for inclusive workplaces.
