Midori Ogino is the founder and CEO of BROWN SUGAR 1ST, a food brand dedicated to producing products with carefully selected ingredients based on the principle of “would I feed this to my own child?” Since starting as a confectionery at the farmers market in Aoyama, Tokyo in 2011, the brand has expanded its distribution to approximately 3,000 stores nationwide. In 2025, they launched “Better Than Butter,” a vegan butter made from organic coconuts sourced from the Philippines. With headquarters in Tokyo and a newly established office in New York to support its entry into the United States market, Ogino actively manages operations between both locations. Committed to a circular business model that supports producers, the environment, and consumers, she aims to create social impact through food and is currently pursuing a listing on the Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2030.
