After ten years as a practitioner in Tokyo (KPMG Tokyo, IRCJ, Advantage Partners), Dr. Ashizawa moved into academia and has been an associate professor at Yokohama City University since 2013. She is currently visiting scholar at Stanford University and an official columnist for Forbes Japan.

Her research interest is in Startup Ecosystem, especially in Tokyo, Japan.
She also has experience as an outside director for several companies and serves on various committees for Japanese ministry-related institutions.
Dr. Ashizawa received her B.A. in Economics, MBA, and Ph.D. in Management from Keio University, Japan. She moved to Keio Business School as an associate professor in September 2023.
